The Phoenix College Bears split their two-game series with Chandler-Gilbert Community College, falling in a high-scoring extra-inning battle before bouncing back with a win at home.
In the first matchup at Chandler-Gilbert, the Bears dropped a tough 15–14 decision in 11 innings despite a powerful offensive performance. Phoenix College totaled 24 hits in the game, highlighted by multi-hit efforts across the lineup.
Kevin Arellano went 3-for-6 with three RBIs, while Seth Suer finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Gunnar Gift added three hits, including a triple, and Ty Acton also collected three hits and two RBIs. Seandavid Loya had a standout performance at the plate, going 4-for-6 with three RBIs, while Brayden Flores contributed four hits and a run scored.
The Bears built momentum throughout the game and held a late 14–13 lead after scoring two runs in the ninth inning, but Chandler-Gilbert answered in the bottom of the inning to force extras before ultimately walking it off in the 11th.
Phoenix College responded in the second game with a 6–4 victory at home.
The Bears struck early in the second inning before adding three runs in the fourth to take control of the game. Kevin Arellano delivered the biggest swing of the day, hitting a home run and driving in two runs. Seth Suer added two hits and an RBI, while Logan Carney and Gunnar Gift each drove in a run. Brayden Flores and Jose Fernandez also recorded hits for the Bears.
On the mound, Justice Yanke set the tone with 6.1 strong innings, allowing just two runs while striking out three. Joey Parrish closed out the game to earn the win and move to 3–0 on the season.
