Phoenix, AZ — The Phoenix College Bears earned a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Park University on Wednesday night at home, winning by set scores of 20-25, 25-15, 21-25, 25-18, and 15-9.
The Bears showed resilience after dropping the opening set, responding with a dominant second set and maintaining their momentum through a decisive fifth-set win.
Debanhi Aguiar led the way for Phoenix College with a match-high 23 kills and two service aces, while Baylee Furler-Uptergrove added 14 kills and hit an impressive .423. Setter Annette Tapia ran the offense efficiently, dishing out 33 assists and contributing a service ace.
Defensively, Lexi Mallonee anchored the back row with 25 digs, and Leah Luevanos recorded nine kills and four block solos at the net.
With the win, Phoenix College continues to build momentum as the season progresses.
