Phoenix College forward Carmen Coronado continued to cement her legacy as one of the most accomplished players in program history, putting together a remarkable 2025-26 season that once again placed her among the nation's best. A two-time ACCAC Player of the Year and two-time NJCAA Division II First Team All-American, Coronado added another elite statistical year while leading the Bears to a strong 12-3-3 overall record and an 11-1-2 mark in conference play.
Coronado was the heart of the Bears' attack from start to finish. The sophomore produced 21 goals and 16 assists in just 17 matches, totaling 58 points—one of the most productive stat lines in the country. She led the team in goals, assists, points, shots, and game-winning goals, finishing with:
-
21 Goals
-
16 Assists
-
58 Points
-
90 Shots
-
56 Shots on Goal
-
4 Game-Winners
-
2-for-2 on Penalty Kicks
Her efficiency also stood out, converting 23.3% of her shots and placing 62.2% of them on frame. Coronado played and started in all 17 matches she was available for, once again showing the consistency and durability that has defined her PC career.
Phoenix College's offense followed her lead all season long. The Bears finished with 72 team goals, more than four times the scoring of their opponents (72–17). Coronado had a direct hand in 51% of all goals scored by the team, either finishing the play herself or setting up a teammate. Her presence on the field demanded defensive attention every match—opening up space for teammates like Selena Flores Craig, Amaya Hernandez, Giselle German, and Riley Mahnke to have breakout seasons of their own.
Her play also carried Phoenix College to another deep postseason run. The Bears reached the ACCAC Conference Final, ultimately falling to a strong Pima squad, but Coronado's leadership and production helped guide a young roster through one of the most competitive conference slates in the country.
Behind her attacking brilliance and the defensive stability led by goalkeeper Bijou Holm (0.92 GAA, .794 save %), Phoenix College finished unbeaten at home (7–0–2) and once again proved to be one of the top programs in Region I.
As she closes out her Phoenix College career, Carmen Coronado leaves as one of the most decorated players to ever wear a Bears uniform. With multiple Player of the Year awards, two All-America selections, and back-to-back standout seasons, her impact on the program will be felt for years to come.
