The Phoenix College Women's Basketball team continued their strong start to the season with a commanding 69-45 victory over Grand Canyon University Club on Saturday night at Hoy Stadium.
Led by freshman forward Jada Wilson, who posted a game-high 20 points and 7 rebounds, the Bears improved to 2-0 on the young season. Daiana Hollman recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Anaiyah Bellamy added 7 points and 6 boards in a balanced team effort.
Phoenix College's defense set the tone early, holding GCU Club to single digits in the first two quarters. The Bears shot an efficient 50.9% from the field.
Head Coach Branham, now in her fourth season, praised her team's composure and teamwork. "This group is learning to trust one another and play with confidence. We've got a lot of new faces, but the chemistry is growing with each game," she said.
