The Phoenix College Bears Women's Basketball team is set to open their 2024-25 season this Friday at the Juco/JV Challenge, hosted by Phoenix College. Coming off a season with a 7-22 overall record and a 6-17 finish in conference play, the Bears are eager to make a run this year. They'll face Park University JV this Friday at 6 p.m., GCU JV on Saturday at 4 p.m., and ACU JV on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Key returners Jayla Cal and Nivea Campbell are expected to lead the charge this season. Cal, who started 23 of 25 games last season, was the team's top scorer and three-point shooter, earning her a spot on the Second Team All-Conference. Campbell, the Bears' second-highest scorer, will also play a big role. Together with six returning players, the team is looking to build on their strong bond and end-of-season momentum, having won two of their last three games.

The Bears had a promising preseason, showing hard work and resilience on both offense and defense, setting the stage for a competitive season.
