Bears Complete Sweep of Glendale with Dominant Home Stand

The Bears capped off a strong day at home with a doubleheader sweep of Glendale Community College, winning 10–0 in five innings in game one and 9–2 in game two.

Game 1: Phoenix 10, Glendale 0 (5 innings)

The Bears set the tone early, scoring in four consecutive innings, including a five-run fourth to secure the run-rule victory. Phoenix totaled 11 hits in the shutout.

Olivia Deford drove in two runs, while Taylor Borup went 3-for-3 with two RBI. Katelyn Larney added two RBI, and Elyana Rivera launched a two-run home run to highlight the offensive surge.

In the circle, Maddison Peter (6-1) was dominant, tossing a five-inning shutout. She allowed just three hits and struck out six in the complete-game effort.

Game 2: Phoenix 9, Glendale 2

Phoenix carried its momentum into game two, collecting 13 hits in another balanced offensive performance.

Olivia Deford had a perfect 4-for-4 outing, scoring three runs and swiping four bases. Harli Noriega and Taylor Borup each connected on home runs, with Noriega driving in two. Elyana Rivera added two RBI, while Katelyn Larney and Kyla Kim also contributed runs batted in.

Aubree Lovo (5-1) earned the win, throwing six strong innings and allowing just two runs (one earned) on two hits. Julianna Nava closed out the final inning in relief.

Across the two games, the Bears combined for 23 hits, showcased power at the plate, and received dominant pitching performances to complete the conference sweep.

Next Up: The Bears return to action on February 28 for a conference doubleheader against Pima Community College. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM, with game two scheduled for 2:00 PM.
