Bears Sweep Paradise Valley, Extend Winning Streak to Eight

Phoenix College softball continued its dominant run Saturday, sweeping Paradise Valley Community College in a home doubleheader with back-to-back 8–0 victories.

With the pair of wins, the Bears extended their winning streak to eight games and continued to build momentum in conference play.

Game 1: Phoenix College 8, Paradise Valley 0

The Bears set the tone early in the opener, scoring in every inning en route to an 8–0 shutout victory.

Phoenix College collected 12 hits in the five-inning win. Harli Noriega powered the offense, going 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. Katelyn Larney added two hits and an RBI, while Olivia Deford finished with two hits and scored twice.

Additional RBIs came from Alyssa Pina, Elyana Rivera, and Hope Hutchins as the Bears applied consistent pressure throughout the lineup. Phoenix College also stayed aggressive on the bases, swiping multiple stolen bases to keep Paradise Valley on its heels.

In the circle, Aubree Lovo earned the win, tossing four shutout innings while allowing just one hit. Julianna Nava closed out the game with a scoreless fifth to secure the shutout.

Game 2: Phoenix College 8, Paradise Valley 0

The Bears carried their momentum into the second game, using a six-run third inning to break things open.

Phoenix College finished with nine hits and drew six walks. Harli Noriega continued her strong day at the plate with a home run and two RBIs. Katelyn Larney drove in two runs, while Taylor Borup, Mckayla Ethington, and Shay Chapell each added an RBI.

On the mound, Maddison Peter delivered a dominant performance, throwing a complete-game one-hitter. She struck out six over five shutout innings to earn the win and complete the sweep.
