Goodman competed for Phoenix College during the 2008 and 2009 softball seasons, where she quickly established herself as one of the premier catchers in the nation. Despite having Division I opportunities available out of high school, Goodman chose Phoenix College with a clear purpose—to help extend the Bears' championship tradition.
Her impact was immediate and historic. During her two seasons, Phoenix College captured the 2008 NJCAA National Championship and followed with a national runner-up finish in 2009, securing five consecutive national championship appearances and reinforcing the program's reputation as a national powerhouse.

Following her outstanding junior college career, Goodman transferred to Arizona State University, where she continued her winning tradition at the Division I level. Serving as a catcher and designated player, Goodman played a key role on the 2010 Sun Devils team that captured the NCAA National Championship.
