Bears show Impressive Performances Despite High Altitude Challenges
As a result of less oxygen molecules in the air this past Friday evening in Flagstaff, Fernanda Hernandez and Alfonso Hernandez suffered through both the mile and 3000 meters, with both finishing with personal bests in the 3000 meters. Nadia Alvarez competed for her first time at the 60 Hurdles and literally left everything that she had on the track in the 800 meters. Claudio Munoz set lifetime bests in both the 60 meters and 200 meters and Brian Martinez just missed setting new lifetime best times in the 60 meters and 200 meters by hundredths of a second. Sincere Washington was one spot outside the top ten in the 200 meters and Ian Fairley competed for the first time at 7000 feet.
