David Cameron enters his 21st season as Head Coach at Phoenix College and has established himself as one of the most successful junior college men’s soccer coaches in the nation. He is the winningest men’s soccer coach in Maricopa County history with 250+ career wins and has guided the Bears to sustained excellence at the regional, district, and national levels.
Coach Cameron has led Phoenix College to three consecutive Region I Championships (2021–2023) and six straight national tournament appearances, highlighted by a Final Four finish in 2022, a National Championship Finalist finish in 2023, and the 2025 NJCAA National Championship. In recognition of his leadership and program success, Cameron has earned eight Coach of the Year honors, including the prestigious NJCAA National Coach of the Year award in 2022 & 2025.
Beyond wins and championships, Cameron is deeply committed to student-athlete development. He has successfully transferred 89 student-athletes to four-year universities, securing more than $3.1 million in athletic and academic scholarships, while maintaining a strong emphasis on academic achievement, character, and NCAA compliance.
A native of the Valley, Cameron attended Shadow Mountain High School, where he is a member of the Hall of Fame. He began his collegiate playing career at Phoenix College, earning First Team All-American and Player of the Year honors in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Cameron later transferred to Loyola Marymount University (NCAA Division I), where he broke the school’s single-season scoring record and was named Second Team All-Conference.
Professionally, Cameron competed for the Arizona Sandsharks (CISL) in 1997, the Arizona Thunder (WSL) from 1998–2000, the Tucson Fireballs in 2000, and the Arizona Sahuaros from 2001–2002.
Coach Cameron holds a degree in Exercise Science & Physical Education and possesses a U.S. Soccer National C License. He resides in Avondale, Arizona, with his wife and their four children.
