No. 1 Phoenix College Outlasts Glendale in 4–3 Road Victory

The top-ranked Phoenix College Bears continued their unbeaten run, defeating Glendale Community College 4–3 in a thrilling conference matchup on Tuesday night.

Phoenix got off to a fast start when Sergio Jaramillo found the back of the net just three minutes into the match. Glendale responded with two first-half goals to take a 2–1 lead heading into halftime.

The Bears regrouped quickly in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals in less than ten minutes. Easton Elzinga tied the game at 2–2 with a header off a free kick from Cruzeiro Cruz, followed by a Bryan Aceves penalty kick that put Phoenix back in front. Moments later, Tiernan Nicewander added another goal from distance, extending the lead to 4–2.

Glendale managed to score once more off a free kick in the 63rd minute, but the Bears' defense held firm the rest of the way. Goalkeeper Jan Villegas made six saves to preserve the victory.

Phoenix College (9-0-0, 7-0-0 ACCAC) remains unbeaten and sits atop the conference and national standings. The Bears will look to keep their momentum going as they continue their road stretch.
