Men’s Soccer Cruises to 8–0 Win Over GateWay

Phoenix, Ariz.— The top-ranked Phoenix College Bears men's soccer team (4-0-0 overall, 2-0-0 ACCAC) delivered another dominant performance Tuesday night, blanking GateWay Community College 8–0 at Hoy Stadium.

Six different Bears found the back of the net as PC scored six goals in the opening 34 minutes to put the match out of reach early. Kosei Sasaki started the scoring in the 6th minute off a pass from Jean Horace Katende. Katende doubled the lead six minutes later, then Bryan Aceves, Tiernan Nicewander, Sergio Jaramillo and Raul Martinez each added first-half strikes.

In the second half Alan Garibaldy (59') and Landon Vree (63') rounded out the scoring to give the Bears their fourth consecutive victory. Xavier Rawls earned the clean sheet in goal, stopping all three GateWay shots on target.

Phoenix College outshot the Geckos 21–3 and held a 5–0 edge in corner kicks.

The Bears host Scottsdale Community College on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 8p.m. at Hoy Stadium.
