Ajawin Earns Second Team All-Region for the second straight year

Phoenix College sophomore forward AJ Ajawin put together another outstanding campaign, earning Second Team All-Region honors for the second year in a row while continuing to establish herself as one of the conference's top players.

Ajawin started all 27 games for the Bears, averaging 15.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 49.7% from the field. He ranked 12th in the conference in scoring and 4th in rebounds per game, finishing with 233 total rebounds — 6th best in the conference.

A force on the defensive glass, Ajawin ranked 4th in defensive rebounds (183) and 6th in total rebounds. Hw was also a major rim protector, finishing 3rd in the conference in total blocks (40) and 4th in conference-only play (21).

Offensively, Ajawin showcased his versatility. He knocked down 43 three-pointers at a 34.7% clip while adding 104 assists — ranking 11th in the conference — and averaging 3.9 assists per game. His ability to stretch the floor, facilitate offense, and finish inside made him one of the conference's toughest matchups.

In conference play, Ajawin elevated his scoring to 16.1 points per game (9th in the conference) while averaging 8.3 rebounds per contest. He also ranked 10th in total conference points (242).
