Phoenix College came up short Tuesday night, falling 74–48 to Chandler-Gilbert Community College at home. The Bears battled throughout the second half but were unable to overcome a strong first-half performance by the Coyotes.
Chandler-Gilbert jumped out early, taking a 35–14 lead into halftime. Phoenix College responded with a better offensive showing in the second half, scoring 34 points, but the early deficit proved too much to erase.
Alijah Greer led the Bears offensively with 16 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Damion Byrd II added 8 points, while Eudy Lara-Castillo chipped in 7 points. Off the bench, Masai Dean contributed 6 points, and Marcel Ksiazek pulled down 7 rebounds to go along with 3 assists.
Defensively, Trystan Williams provided a spark with 4 blocks. Despite the effort, the Bears struggled from the field, shooting 26.8% overall for the game.
