The Phoenix College baseball team faced a tough stretch, falling in both games of a doubleheader against Glendale Community College on April 7–8.
In game one, the Bears struggled to generate offense in an 11-0 loss. Phoenix College managed just one hit on the day, coming from Parker Noah, while drawing three walks. Glendale capitalized early, plating runs in the second inning and continuing to build momentum with multi-run frames in the third and fourth.
On the mound, Caden Marriott took the loss after allowing six runs over two innings. Glendale's offense was fueled by timely hitting and patience at the plate, drawing nine walks and adding two home runs to extend their lead.
Game two followed a similar script, with Glendale securing a 10-0 victory in five innings. The Bears collected two hits, with Brayden Flores and Gunnar Gift accounting for the offense.
Glendale once again struck early and often, scoring in each of the first four innings, including a five-run third inning that put the game out of reach. Justice Yanke was charged with the loss, while the pitching staff combined to allow 12 hits.
Despite the setback, Phoenix College showed flashes defensively, turning a double play in game two.
