The Phoenix College baseball team split its series with GateWay Community College, highlighted by a strong offensive performance in a 9-4 victory at home before falling 10-0 on the road.
Game 1: Phoenix College 9, GateWay 4
The Bears set the tone early with a five-run third inning and never looked back, securing a 9-4 win behind timely hitting and solid bullpen work.
Phoenix College totaled nine runs on nine hits, led by standout performances from Kevin Arellano and Parker Noah. Both players drove in four runs, with each launching a home run to fuel the Bears' offense. Noah added a double as part of his three-hit day, while Ty Acton contributed two hits and an RBI.
On the mound, Caden Marriott earned the win, allowing just one run over three innings. The bullpen combined to limit damage, with Joey Parrish closing the game with three scoreless innings to earn the save.
Game 2: GateWay 10, Phoenix College 0
In the second game, GateWay responded with a dominant performance, shutting out the Bears 10-0 in six innings.
Phoenix College managed four hits in the contest, with Nikolaus Hill, Gunnar Gift, Ty Acton, and Jose Fernandez each recording a hit. However, the Bears were unable to generate offensive momentum against GateWay's pitching staff.
