Phoenix College Baseball Rallies Past Lamar for 11-7 Victory

The Phoenix College baseball team battled back from an early deficit to defeat Lamar Community College, 11-7, in a high-energy contest at home.

After trailing 5-1 through the first three innings, the Bears responded with resilience and timely hitting. Phoenix College plated three runs in the third inning to cut into the lead, then evened the game in the fourth before taking full control with a four-run sixth inning.

The Bears added two more insurance runs in the eighth to secure the win.

Offensively, Phoenix College capitalized on opportunities throughout the game, scoring 11 runs on eight hits while taking advantage of six Lamar errors. Sam Lorgan delivered a standout performance, driving in six runs, including a key home run. Seth Suer contributed two hits and an RBI, while Alex Pino added two hits and a run driven in. Nikolaus Hill chipped in with a double as part of a well-rounded offensive effort.

The Bears were also aggressive on the basepaths, swiping multiple bases and applying constant pressure on the defense.

On the mound, Cayne Killion started the game, allowing five runs—only one earned—over four innings while striking out four. Jackson Sanders provided a crucial boost out of the bullpen, tossing three scoreless innings with five strikeouts to help shift momentum. Nicholas Doyan closed out the final two innings, allowing just one run while striking out three.
